Our land, which comprises for the most part, woods and orchards, is quiet and peaceful, offering you an opportunity to: rest, relax and enjoy nature. You may enjoy our front yard which has large kitchen & herb gardens, and where weather permitting we serve our own organic breakfasts. Or you may choose to relax in the shade of the trees reading a book or to visit our friendly donkeys.
Depending on the season, you may see multitudes of wild flowers including wild orchids, deer, birds, squirrels and other wildlife. We are happy to offer bird & nature watching tours/classes, and personalized tours in the region.
We love to garden organically. We shy away from commercially manufactured products for organic farming and gardening. Through the years we learned about home-made recipes to nurture our gardens and to keep away diseases and pests. Two favorites include a brew made of stinging nettles which we use against aphids on our apple trees and a baking soda mix which works miracles against fungal infections of the vegetables.
These recipes coupled with companion gardening and crop rotation serve us well. Some of our old farmer neighbors who had initially doubted our quirky methods have now come to appreciate our fruit and vegetable yields. While we appreciate their farming wisdom, handed down for generations, we are also quite content as new farmers with a city background.
