The region around Calamandrana offers a wealth of options from enjoying the picturesque landscapes and historical landmarks to visiting museums.

Asti’s centre, less than 30 Km away from us, shows much of its medieval history and has many fairs and festivals celebrating the wine and the food of the area. There are several museums to visit including a paleontological museum, which tells the geological history of our hills.

Alba and its environs is a great destination for a  day out visiting the capital of the Langhe hills with its ancient towers and the historic towns of Neive, Barbaresco and Barolo while tasting some of the most prestigious wines of Italy. 

Acqui Terme , 15 minutes from Calamandrana, is the perfect place for an aperitivo and dinner, after a few hours in a spa with the natural hot spring, a pleasure also the Romans knew.

Torino, the former capital of Italy, is about 100 km from us and deserves a visit.  Once there you can stroll along its 36 km of porticos enjoying some of the most beautiful examples of Baroque architecture. You may go to the top of the iconic Mole Antonelliana to appreciate the arch of the Alps crowning the city, visit the best Egyptian museum outside Egypt or simply enjoy a cup of the famous hot chocolate of Torino at one of many historical cafes..

The Sea Side: The Ligurian Sea (part of the Mediterranean) is just across the mountains, slightly more than an hour away. You can visit Genoa with its elegant centre and the wonderful Aquarium or enjoy the beach in one of the many coastal towns.

The Alps dominate the horizon all around Cascina Gallo Orsi. North or west they are only 100 km away offering hiking opportunities and in winter a great skiing experience.
